STEVE KOPPEN

Steve Koppen is the founder of the band, plays bass and sings lead and harmony. He also plays tenor banjo for some non-bluegrass songs. He was born in South Carolina but grew up in northern Illinois near the Wisconsin border. He moved to Tempe, AZ over 50 years ago. He has been interested in folk and bluegrass music since the 50's. He serves as the band archivist, providing obscure and useless historical facts about our music's history.

ANNE LORRAINE TIFFEN TAYLOR

Anne Lorraine Tiffen Taylor plays fiddle and sings. She was born in Missouri, but raised in the Chicago and Cleveland areas. She has a lifelong love for music. She is a retired attorney, a photographer, and she has a black belt.  She also has three dogs and a parrot.

LARRY HOLT

Larry Holt plays both banjo and guitar with the band. He has previously played guitar, banjo, and mandolin semiprofessionally with several bands in California. He was born into a musical family in north-eastern Oklahoma and raised there and in central and southern California. He is a retired mechanical engineer.

JOHN PITNER

John Pitner is a retired middle school music teacher with thirty years of teaching and music experience. He plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony, and he can play almost any instrument, including the tuba if we should ever need it. He was born in Wyoming and raised in Colorado.

JOHN HOYT

John Hoyt is the newest and tallest member, playing rhythm guitar and singing lead and harmony. John (who we call Hoyt) has played and sang in his church for over fifty years. He was born in Boston and raised in Tempe, AZ.
